Can I try again to verify my identity?
In certain circumstances, you may be allowed to retry verification. If this is the case, a message will show in the personal details section of your account.
If my identity checks fail, can you override it?
No, we can't override the checks completed by our partner, Stripe.
Stripe specialises in verifying identities. They check government-issued ID and use advanced biometric data to make a decision. Autotrader isn't involved in the decision-making process.
Based on this, Stripe's decision is final.
What happens to my live adverts if the identity checks fail?
Any live adverts will be deleted. We will give you a pro-rata refund for any time left on the adverts.
Can I ask someone else in my business or household to complete the checks on my behalf?
No, the account holder who is selling the vehicles should verify the account.
