There are two options you can choose from:
- Reserve now
- Reservation request
You can only show one option on your adverts. Speak to your account manager if you want to update your choice.
Reserve now
- When a customer decides to reserve your vehicle, they may make a secure fully refundable payment of £99 via the advert on Autotrader
- The payment is made through Stripe and held by Autotrader
- We'll let you know when a reservation has been made. The details will show in the 'Sales Hub' tab in Portal and the advert will be updated to show it's reserved.
- You'll then either complete or cancel the order once you have spoken and agreed on the outcome with the customer
- Either action will trigger the return of the £99 reservation payment and adjust the stock status
- If a customer changes their mind, they can cancel their order at any time. When this happens, we'll refund the £99. You'll get an email to let you know and the deal will move to 'Action needed' in Sales Hub.
Reservation request
- When a customer sends a reservation request, we'll let you know. You'll be able to see the information in Sales Hub in Portal.
- The advert on Autotrader won't show as reserved automatically and the customer won't have paid a £99 reservation fee
- If you want to mark the vehicle as reserved, you can do this in Portal
