Good to know: You'll need to be an admin user for your account to make these changes.
Add a user
1. Log into Portal
2. If you're a group customer, make sure you switch to the correct site first. Select 'Account' and then 'Switch my DID' to do this.
3. Select 'Account' in the top right-hand corner. In the drop-down menu select 'Users'.
4. Select 'Create new user'
5. A form will appear where you need to complete all sections. Make sure you use a unique email for the new user that hasn't been used with Autotrader before.
6. Then select 'Confirm' to save your changes
7. A popup will appear with a summary of the changes. You'll receive a text message with a code to enter.
8. Enter the code you get and then select 'Confirm and send invite'
9. The person you created will now get an email from Autotrader to set up their password
10. When you go back to the 'Users' screen, you'll find the person in the list
Edit a user
1. Log into Portal
2. Select 'Account' in the top right-hand corner. In the drop-down menu select 'Users'.
3. Select 'Edit access'. This will turn the user information into an editable grid.
4. Tick or untick the permissions for each user as needed
5. Select 'Save changes'
6. A popup will appear with a summary of the changes. You'll receive a text message with a code to enter.
7. Enter the code you get and then select 'Confirm changes'
Delete a user
Good to know: Deleting a user is permanent and can't be undone
1. Log into Portal
2. Select 'Account' in the top right-hand corner. In the drop-down menu select 'Users'.
3. Select the name of the person you want to delete
4. Their profile page will open. Underneath their email address in the top left, select 'Delete user'.
5. You'll receive a text message with a code to enter
6. Enter the code you get and then select 'Delete anyway'
